Lynda Ford

Cellist and pianist Lynda Ford is the co-director of Joyous Rhapsody Music Studio in Northwest Houston. Ms. Ford has over 18 years experience teaching private cello and piano lessons, group theory, string ensemble, and cello choir. Ms. Ford holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Therapy with a minor in Cello Performance from Sam Houston State University. She continues to improve her musical abilities by participating in teacher training classes, seminars, and workshops on music therapy, cello, and piano.

Ms. Ford is a cellist with the Kingwood Pops Orchestra, Symphony North of Houston, and the Conroe Symphony Orchestra. She has also participated in both solo and ensemble performances with various area churches. She traveled to Eastern Europe and China with the Sam Houston State University Symphony Orchestra in 2004 and 2007, respectively. She has been an adjudicator for many string and piano events the past 18 years. Joyous Rhapsody string ensemble plays regularly at weddings, church functions, nursing homes, hospitals, private dinners, and other events.

Lynda Ford has a life long passion for teaching and for music. In addition to piano and cello, she plays bass clarinet and guitar. Ms. Ford's professional memberships include the American Music Therapy Association, Southwestern Region of the AMTA, Houston Area Suzuki Piano Association, and Houston Area Suzuki Strings Association. She is also a member of the Texas Music Educators Association, National Guild of Piano Teachers, and the Suzuki Association of the Americas.
